Kangastay is in a splendid bushland setting beside the tranquil waters of the Harriet River. The major sites of Kangaroo Island are within an easy drive; Flinders Chase, Seal Bay, Raptor Domain and more. At Kangastay enjoy handfeeding possums, watching the Tamar wallabies, echidnas, kangaroos and many birds. It is a wildlife paradise right in the heart of popular Vivonne Bay, voted Australia's number one beach.

There is good fishing close by in the river or on the expansive white sandy beach, which is only 600 metres away. In the evening, try fishing from the jetty or at Point Ellen, alongside the locals who are willing to share their experiences, while listening to the little penguins that return to their burrows.

If fishing is not for you, there are so many wonderful areas to stroll along, the beach or the riverside, to reinvigorate yourself.

You may prefer to sit back, relax and enjoy the views from the front balcony that overlook the bushland and native gardens, or cook up a storm either in the well equipped kitchen or on the back patio with the undercover gas BBQ. There is also an additional toilet and a laundry with hand washing facilities.
